It’s hard to imagine modern life without concrete. Thanks to its incredible strength and versatility, this man-made material is used to build everything from backyard barbeque pits to large skyscrapers. It is by far the most used, sustainable, construction material in the world.

At Thorsland Concrete, we know a thing or two about concrete! If fact, building with concrete is what we do best! We spend most of our time shaping it, pouring it, and making sure it does what it’s supposed to do. If you’ve ever seen any construction project up close, you might be familiar with the art of pouring concrete. It is, of course, an integral part of the construction process and takes a considerable amount of practice and knowledge. At Thorsland Concrete, we’ve made pouring concrete a science. Our founder, John Thorsland, grew up on a construction site, and learned how to pour concrete at an early age. And after graduating from Brown University with a degree in Biology, John took his love for math and science and applied it to concrete. Today, we continue to do business the same way we always have, completely by the numbers. For us, pouring concrete is about being precise, measuring in tenths, applying the Pythagorean Theorem, and ensuring everything is square and plumb. Anything less than exact won’t work. This attention to exacting detail has led to Thorsland Concrete being chosen by architects, engineers, and builders for “extreme” and “high degree of difficulty” projects where topography and challenging geometry throw in some atypical challenges.

While pouring concrete is our trade of choice, our goal is to serve our customers and create long-lasting relationships. Concrete was named by the Romans. The word “concrete” comes from the Latin word “Concretus”, which roughly translated means, to “grow together”. At Thorsland Concrete, we see this translation as the foundation of our relationships with our customers. We proudly serve the needs of our community and customers so we can “grow together” and create building structures that will be around for generations.

Whether tackling lakeside estates, high-rise hotels, architectural board-form houses or specialty craftwork like Nexcem block, we work closely with architects, designers, and contractors to provide excellent concrete construction services. Please give us a call and let us show you how we can grow together on your next project!

Are you looking for a product that will leave the smallest environmental footprint, while still providing a high level of durability? Concrete is produced from locally available material and leaves a small environmental footprint. Materials used to produce concrete include industrial byproducts and waste materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. Used concrete can also be recycled to make roadbeds or as granular material when making new batches of concrete.

Thorsland Concrete has earned a reputation for high-quality service. This comes from consistently completing the jobs according to blueprint specifications, regulations, and stringent quality requirements. We take pride in our work. We “set the bar” in defining quality in our region.

We honor our commitments with unwavering dedication. Our employees, the cornerstone of our organization, embody unwavering integrity, reflecting our values. Honesty and sincerity guide our operations, ensuring authenticity and transparency in all interactions.

Just as plans and blueprints change during construction, Thorsland Concrete can adapt as required. We work closely with architects, designers, and contractors to meet the changing design requirements. With years of experience, we can offer innovative solutions to your concrete needs.
